ISU Alumni Band

The Cyclones beat the Kansas Jayhawks yesterday at ISU's homecoming. It was really fun to go back for alumni band--there were something like 230 people back for alumni band total, so it was a great turn out. Many of the girls I was friends with in marching band were back, so it was a great time. Laura and I went to Ames early, stopped off at the Tip Top for a quick Bloody Mary, then it was off to rehearsal at 7:15am! Enjoyed marching and playing to and from the stadium and marching at halftime. Halftime was Halloween themed--the ISUCFVMB played "Things That Go Bump in the Night" and the alumni band played "Frankenstein." Both bands played "Ghostbusters" together and then all 500-some of us marched the fight song off the field together. Pretty cool. Laura and I ate at Wallaby's after the game--haven't done that in a LONG time!--and watched the end of Iowa's big win over Michigan State. We also watched two grown men nearly get in a fist fight arguing over Iowa and Iowa State. Who cares?!! Why can't you just support all of the state's university teams??! Especially when the teams are playing well!
