Two month milestones

  • Can't live without...... all of this stuff from one month milestones.....Ergo and Snugli baby carriers to keep Mace happy and also have my hands free.  Playtex drop-in bottles for when Dad feeds Mace.....easy clean up!  One liter bottles of smartwater to at least stay hydrated since my solid food nutrition isn't so great.  This awesome play mat......Mace is really starting to kick and swat and enjoys play time.  Baby Bjorn bouncer.....he's starting to bounce it on his own from kicking and squirming!  He usually hangs out in the bouncer next to the table with us while we eat dinner.  FaceTime and Skype to talk to our parents and Rob's grandma.  And of course.....Starbucks lattes and frappuccinos to keep me awake.
  • Sleeping.....Mace was making steady progress up until the last few nights.  He had even slept through the night once....a six hour stretch!  The last few nights though he has been up at 2am like clockwork.....sometimes back to bed an hour later, sometimes not.  It is killer.  When he does go back to bed, he tends to be noisy, squeaking, squawking, and grunting and generally driving me nuts.  Somehow Rob can sleep through that pretty well, so Rob has taken him in to the other bedroom two nights in a row so that we can all sleep a little better.
  • Eating......every 2-3 hours during the day still.  Takes a bottle pretty well most of the time.
  • Diapers......he's growing out of size 1 diapers!  Not even sure if we'll get through all the size 1s we have.....need to switch to size 2 soon.
  • Clothes....wearing 3 month clothes comfortably.....will be in 3-6 shortly.
  • Hair.....growing back after losing some.....brown and fuzzy all over!
  • Weight......Rob weighed him a few days ago and he was up to 12 lbs 2 oz.  We go to the doctor tomorrow for his two month check up as well as shots :( so we will see how much he weighs on their scale.
  • Daycare....aka baby school....starts in about three weeks.  We visited again last night.  I think it will be good.....there are several other baby boys that will be Mace's new buddies.  The place is only about 10 minutes away from our house.  We are going to try for a while Rob taking him in the morning A. because I have to be to work earlier, so Mace can hang out/sleep longer at home with Dad in the mornings and B. I do NOT want to have to go through leaving him each day!  I will pick him up in the afternoons after school which should be around 4 o'clock.  My planning period is at the end of the day this year, so I don't anticipate spending a ton of time at school once the day is over.  I really like the gal that runs the daycare.....and the two gals in the baby room are great.  They are actually finishing up a new daycare building that will open in October, so that will be cool to have a nice new place.  Just down the street from their current location, so it will still be convenient for us.
  • Still smiling a lot but hasn't quite laughed yet.  He's trying though!
