Safety first

Obviously we need a baby gate for the stairs.  Mace can scamper up those things so dang quickly.  I mean, we don't know for sure.  It isn't like we crawl up the stairs behind him cheering him on (yes we do).

Since we still haven't settled on a gate to buy, we just decided to contract Lilly to do a little guard work on the side.  She does seem to have some extra time between napping on the hearth of the fireplace and napping on the chair in the office.

Unfortunately Lilly is not much of a formidable foe.  Mace quite enjoys sticking his head practically in to her mouth so she'll lick him.  He understands now how to feed her, and she is a guard who can be paid off pretty easily......so yeah...

We need a baby gate.

We totally cheer Marcus along when he climbs the stairs... Whoops. :) Maybe Mace and Marcus can climb together when they (FINALLY) meet!

  11. Your dog is cute! What breed is Lilly? From the photo she looks like a labradoodle or maybe just a poodle of some sort? Very cute.
Good luck picking out the best baby gate for the job! I look around our house and think about the various safety features we'll have to add in the next year...

  15. Please post what kind of gate you end up purchasing! Looks like we have similar staircases and I have yet to find one that works properly (you know without having to jam a piece of wood between the gate and the wall)!
